Portable steam sauna review: Do your sauna sess at home

Yes, a portable steam sauna review. There are several health benefits to sitting in a steam sauna we’re not talking about enough around here. When I found out that I can purchase one for the house, I got right on it.

Sitting in a steam sauna at home after my workout is a nice treat that makes me feel pampered, more relaxed, and productive throughout my day, and comes with lots of health benefits.

I’ve been using one for a few months now and really enjoy it. I made sure not to purchase the cheapest sauna so I don’t get something that’ll break down and I didn’t spend on the most expensive option either.

In this portable steam sauna review, I hope to give you some tea on having one so you can figure out if this is really your cup of tea. Let me start off by saying I like my portable steam sauna, but do give as honest a review as possible from the “fan” perspective.

I purchased the WILLOWYBE Portable Personal Steam Sauna for a reasonable price. Not too cheap and not too expensive just in case I really didn’t like it. But, I like it.

This personal sauna was priced right, is easy to work with, and hasn’t let me down yet, but has had its hiccups.

Chill, relax, take in the benefits

I take my portable steam sauna out of the closet, unfold it, and set it up in front of the tv in my little room. Watching YouTube or using my iPad while I sweat is relaxing AF. Turn on some jazz music, diffuse some oils, and I’m really feeling like a queen.

And there are a ton of health benefits to be enjoyed. Check out this list from Healthline (1):

  • Improve circulation
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Reduces stress
  • Clears congestion
  • Promotes skin health
  • Aids in workout recovery
  • Loosens stiff joints
  • Burns calories
  • Boosts the immune system

Just make sure you don’t stay in too long and get dehydrated. I use mine for 15 to 20 minutes. Also, check with your doctor if you’re pregnant, recovering from surgery, or immune-compromised.

What do I love about having a portable steam sauna

What I really like about using a portable steam sauna is getting the sweat in for clearing my skin, getting rid of puffiness, and strengthening my immune system. The sauna also helps my legs hurt less after workouts on intense leg days.

Having one for the house just makes me feel luxurious. It’s truly a treat that I like having at the house. I set it up in about 5 minutes, it warms up in 10, and then I use it for 20 minutes. At the end of my session, I am sweaty and feeling like I had a good session.

It’s worth the purchase, but the sauna isn’t all roses.

Setup and takedown are harder the first couple of times. Don’t get discouraged. It gets easier.

Yea, this was confusing the first couple of times I’ve had to fold up the portable steam sauna. The first day, I watched a few YouTube videos several times before finally being able to fold the thing up and put it in its small carry bag.

Now, I pop it up in less than a minute and fold it up in less than a few minutes. It’s really a nice contraption.

The steam pot is easy to set up too. I fill mine with distilled water and add essential oils for aromatherapy. I finally get to use more of the essential oils I’ve got piled up so that’s nice.

What I don’t like about having a portable steam sauna

Although it doesn’t take much time to set it up and take it down, it does take extra time that can be used on a busy schedule.

I don’t use the steam sauna if I want extra time to work or have a busy schedule of plenty to do. I’d rather use the setup and take downtime to get work done.

It can also get a little tight on the knees if you’re taller. I’m 5’4 and have had to shift my legs around for my bent, aching knee. (I have knees that can hurt.)

If you can stand your knees being bent for up to 20 minutes then you’ll be fine. I can have knee pain but do fine in this tent.

Lastly, the chair that comes with this portable steam sauna only holds up to 200 lbs. Because I am over 200 lbs, I purchased another chair like it at Walmart for under $10. Can’t beat it. If you weigh over 300 lbs, you might find it hard to find a chair that’ll fit into the sauna. It is a tight space.

Overall, I’m a fan

Getting a portable steam sauna was a good move that is a treat to use with a gang of health benefits. I love it.

The sweat is GREAT and you can get the benefits of the sauna anytime at home. If you want to use the sauna, but don’t have the time at the gym, you can use it at home. It’s easier to use if you have a designated spot for it to stay up.

Putting it up and taking it down when using it frequently throughout the week can get time-consuming in my opinion. I don’t use it on days that I have a lot to do. And if you need to bend your knees while sitting, or weigh over 300 lbs, this sauna might not be for you. There is no room to stretch your legs when in the tent. It is a tight fit.

For me, the portable steam sauna is a win that I feel pampered to enjoy on a regular basis in my home. While watching my favorite lifestyle people on YouTube.

If you’re looking to boost your weight loss results as well as treat yourself with a little extra TLC, getting a portable steam sauna is a good step to take.
